Time for CHICKS!!!

I wasnt going to do it, but I did. I think thats just how my life works! We were at the store getting lay feed for our girls, when Lucy had a mental breakdown because she just absolutely needed a chick. I told her no. We got our stuff and left. And then somehow we ended up at D&B and the lady was putting 3 baby chicks in my cart and the feeders and the water and the food and I just didnt know how to stop it. All I could hear in my head was cheep cheep, and then we got home and I realized I didnt have anywhere to put them, so I had the excellent idea of homeing them in one of our bath tubs. I guess you can deduct a few points off my IQ for this but I think it was the smartest idea ever. They are the cutest thingse ever, Lucy decided to name hers Lady, Gavin named his Suzy, and Lylas is Ethel. This is the beginning of a new adventure for our family!

I love them and they love me!

Since you've all think i've got a screw loose anyways, I am going to make this blog the best part of my week! I love my chickens, and they love me and thats that! so HA. I really like being able to make a blog because I can write about whatever it is I want, and no one can stop me! Look at these awesome eggs i get, see. Chickens rock. they make the world go 'round! I wish I would have taken pictures of when I first brought the Roo home, the polish hen (Pheebe), wasn't about to give up her spot as Queen of the Coop, so they had a little pecking order match, that turned into a boxing match, that turned into a chicken fight, that turned into a cock fight, and finally the rooster won and Pheebe gave up and walked away, (thankfully, I was almost scared she was going to win, whew, that would've been weird, not sure how that would work either!)

He Takes good care of his girls!

This is the collection of eggs we get everyday! Dark brown, light brown, green, pink, and polka dot ones!
Bertha setting. She would really like it if I left her a few eggs to hatch!!! Shes a cuddler too, the sweetest chicken you will EVER meet!

Dinner time, trying to get them to eat their vegetables is about the same as getting a child to eat them!

The man of the COOP

So we have yet to decide on a name for this awesomely cool guy, but he is PURE yard art, who could not want something like him walking around their yard all day, he is FULL of personality and he struts his stuff when he knows your watching! I love him to death!

These girls our frizzles! Bertha,Stella, and Frankie. They are our special girls, when they came to us they had leg mites,we spent hours gooping their little feathery legs up with Vaseline and cooking oil, which turned out to be a not so good idea because the vaseline made their feathers sticky and goopy which is not good. So then came the next step, giving a chicken a bath! HA, have you ever thought about giving a chicken a bath? Neither had I, but we did and they loved it I called it Spa day for the frizzles they were pampered, bubble bath, massage, we even blew them dry with the hair dryer, by the end of it they were stunning! Needless to say we cured them of those little buggers, and now they are perfect spoiled rotten chickens, and when I say we I mean Kimi and I, kimi is also a chicken whisperer and is most likely there with me when it has to do with the chickens! Frankie is Kimi's girl who just lives with us!!! These ladies lay little tiny pink eggs, so cute!
This is Frankie in the bath, I mean spa!

This is Hyacinth one of my 3 Aracaunas, they lay green eggs, and have little beards, ADORABLE!

This is Pheebe our Polish Hen she is pretty sure that she is the boss of the other hens!
