Aw, The Simple Joys in Life!
So, our second baby chick hatched last friday night, its a little frizzle. So cute! We were very anxious to see how Milli would react to being a big sister already, and turns out shes just as mean and feisty as her mama, (Pheebie) she wouldnt let Jerrie (the new frizzle) in her brooder box, she was trying to peck her eyes out! NOT GONNA HAPPEN ON MY WATCH! So I decided to go see if Pheebie would adopt her since she had her own little baby hatch out the same day Jerrie was hatched. To my suprise it worked Pheebie adopted her right away and both the two little chicks went and hid under their mama! I just love doing this it is so fun to watch, and makes me so happy to see how nature really works!

The Perfect Way To End A cRaZy Month!
Out of all the crazy things that have happened here this month this is the winner!!! We (Kimi and I) watched as one of our eggs in the incubator slowly but surely hatched! That was the most awesome thing ever! I cant wait to do it again!
We did have to step in and help the little guy get a jump start...this was after waiting and waiting and we started to worry a bit!
Jay didnt appreciate this moment very much..we set the egg back in the incubator and Jay walked over to look in and see the progress and he wasnt very fond of the fact that it was "staring at him"! HAHA

more MAY
So as I had said before "crazy month of may" well thats for sure. About 2 weeks ago my little Roo Suzy was attacked by a dog who tried to eat him through the fence. Dont worry, I turned into the incredible hulk and saved his little life. He was a bit mangled but he is much better now. Stupid dog. It took a few days of neosporin treatments and some pampering and he was back to normal. I was supposed to be giving this little guy away but I dont know if I will be able to know.
On another note, my 2 frizzles and the polish have gone broody! YAY, so we'll see what happens!
And I've also got our homemade incubator up and running so the actions about to start somewhere! My little broody hens where being greatly disturbed in the coop so I decide they needed a maternity ward. And by golly they got one. Some how, im not sure how, but I talked my husband into building one for them. I think he loves them more then he says ;) actually I know he loves them more than he says, who couldnt they are sto stinking cute!
As for my babies, they are growing like weeds as usual. They follow me around the yard and cheep and peep and get themselves into trouble.
Oh and DONT FORGET about my other babies, the BUNNIES!! They make me squeel and giggle everytime I open their cage to check on them, they are so dang cute! Their eyes are just now opening and their little bodies are so fluffy and cute and furry and soft and I just cant help but squeeze them! I LOVE THEM!
Heres an update for the rest of my crazy farm family in pictures!
This is my Grandma talking
to Hyacinth....
Lucy..(professional chicken whisperer/catcher/torturer)
Please dont mind the washer or dryer or whatever that thing is on the otherside of the fence! its not mine I swear!!!

Crazy month of May!!!
My babies (the chicks) are around 9 weeks old give or take a few days I guess they are no longer known as chicks, they are pullets now. So I was literally having an empty nest syndrom moment. and then it happened again. I got 4 more chicks!!! 2 Cochins and 2 polish, and yes they are the cutest things EVER! AND I built my OWN brooder box (quite proud of myself!). I wasnt about to do the bathtub thing again, that was weird. Anyways, Kimi and I came up with some names for our little munchkins. The 2 polish are Thelma Loo, and Louise and the 2 cochins are Darla and Suzy. I love them. and so does Greta! Have you ever met Greta? I dont believe I have ever introduced Greta to you. Shes my new pal, or shadow whatever you want to call it, she follows me everywhere, shes a Glen of Imaal Terrier! and shes MINE.
Anyways back onto the subject here are my newest babies
And here is an updated picture of my all grown up kids.
Yesterday Kimi and I were outside, and I went to check on my rabbit, yes I also have a rabbit. Its a long story. So i opened her door to peek in on her and all i could see was fur and naked slimey little bodies EVERYWHERE! Apparently my rabbit decided to give birth yesterday. so now im going to have cute little fuzzy bunnies too giggle over!

Time for CHICKS!!!
I wasnt going to do it, but I did. I think thats just how my life works! We were at the store getting lay feed for our girls, when Lucy had a mental breakdown because she just absolutely needed a chick. I told her no. We got our stuff and left. And then somehow we ended up at D&B and the lady was putting 3 baby chicks in my cart and the feeders and the water and the food and I just didnt know how to stop it. All I could hear in my head was cheep cheep, and then we got home and I realized I didnt have anywhere to put them, so I had the excellent idea of homeing them in one of our bath tubs. I guess you can deduct a few points off my IQ for this but I think it was the smartest idea ever. They are the cutest thingse ever, Lucy decided to name hers Lady, Gavin named his Suzy, and Lylas is Ethel. This is the beginning of a new adventure for our family!
